KWD (they/she/sir)
Sir got her start volunteering with the OSWC and attending virtual meetings from the East Coast, until they discovered the incredible opportunity of the 2022 New England Sex Work Summit in New Hampshire. Taking a risk, they reached out to The Ishtar Collective, and found the inspiration and space she was looking for to fight publicly and loudly for the ‘Rights not Rescue’ movement of sex work. Since joining with Ishtar, they have embraced the ability to volunteer with DSW to visit Northeast Statehouses and speak directly to policy-makers on the importance and urgency behind decriminalizing the adult industry, and any related gender or LGBTQ+ legislation. She is also a joyful graduate of the Spokeshub Educational Program, and embraces the peer resource sharing and personal development taking place virtually. KWD speaks openly about her continuous journey with processing grief through sex work; and the alienation of the self manifesting as imposter-syndrome for a person ‘whose business is pleasure’. Another pivotal aspect of their advocacy involves the push for inclusive and accessible sex education, as a form of harm reduction, and reliable reproductive healthcare. She can often be seen teaching caring clients how to be a good companion, which provides a wealth of language and stories to share.
KWD began stripping in 2018, while on academic scholarship to obtain degrees in both Womxn’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Sociology. At her first club, she took on the roles of DJ, doorman, bouncer, bartender, and dancer; so of course her neuro-diverse brain fell in love with the nightlife and the hustle! During school, they did extensive research on and proudly advocated for the rights of sex workers, which proved to be an occasional annoyance to professors.
Since then, they have gone on to try a variety of work in the adult industry, landing at a place where she feels comfortable working independently; with goals to dance again, and open up a club that respects the workers on stage. Their only time off from the industry happened during the pandemic lockdowns, and after her father passed in 2021. —————
In their freetime, KWD enjoys creating all sorts of inconsequential art projects– collaging, crocheting, coloring– and can usually be found in the woods, hiking, camping, or with a good book down by a river. Sir is most comfortable when honoring their meatsuit by using fashion as a love language. She is polyamorous as a lifestyle; and loves her friends, partners, metamours, and colleagues as chosen family.
